Moonlight Festival it's the main music-cultural event in Italy about new wave, dark wave, gothic and electronic music. Its format has been diffused all over Europe, in the United States, in the far east Japan and every year it will be held in our country. The new wave embodied the inward-looking optimism and it was so important that still nowadays new bands in the world-wide music scene declare with words and deeds that the umbilical cord with that past period has not been completely cut off yet. Following the renewed success some new music groups enjoy and hand in hand with the technological revolution, the Moonlight Festival intends to be an active means in order to let people know or remind artists, records and curiosities of that incredible period. In Conferences about music, DJ sets and concerts will be performed, sharing memories from the fabulous ‘80s until today in a country rich in art and tourism. During the festival book launches and thematic exhibitions will take place. 12 bands and 30 DJs will liven up the three day festival playing music 14 hours a day. The locations will be numerous: a striking stage will be built where a number of exhibitions and stands will be available. The event aims to be a melting pot for lovers of this music genre. A buzzing cultural environment where the Moonlight Festival has the possibility to offer the greatest and most complete yearly rendezvous.
Moonlight Festival 2011 - Third Edition
Velvet Club & Factory - Rimini, Italy - 26, 27, 28 August 2011
Scheduled in the days of 26, 27, August 28, 2011 edition of the Moonlight
Festival will take place at the Italian Temple devotees of the new wave,
post-punk, the dark and alternative electronic music: the historic Velvet
Club in Rimini.
Moonlight festival will propose as previous editions a full calendar of
events, in addition to evening performances, happenings includes free
afternoon with DJ sets, talks and lectures with a presentation of books. At
Moonlight festival different generations of the new wave of international
calls historic landmarks and bands will meet up to move with their
respective specialties. The menu is succulent and full of many flavors.
The first session of concerts includes the swirling rhythms of amazing EBM
And One (GER), preceded by the modern synth-pop of Babylonia
and the folk-noir of Delenda Noia, two shining promises of the
Italian scene.
Saturday's event will live in the heights of the hypno-beat Star Clock
DVA (GB) the band will put on its first Italian show after long years of
silence, will dance to the rhythms of the German Deutsch Amerikanische
Freundschaft muscle (DAF), fathers and tutelary deities of the
Electronic Body Music, and ride the dark-rock epic The Beauty Of Gemina
from Switzerland.
The final evening will review the positive-punk of seminal UK Decay
(GB) for another unmissable back, the dark ritual french band Rosa Crvx,
famous for the beauty of their show, and post-punk power of our own Go
Flamingo!: charms psych lost and found.
